Binte is here!

At last our new maid is here, Binte. This time the feeling of going to JPB to pick up a maid no longer fascinating. As we know what are the procedures and things to ask, take and bring the maid out of the agency. Binte is smaller size than me, so you can imagine what's her size. She has those typical Indonesian maid's look where you can see at other residences. Suddenly seeing her makes me feel like we have a proper maid, especially when she carry Chloe. Just hard to describe the feeling.

About how her progress.. we told her the things she should do and even told her to write down so that she can remember. For now, I can say she is hardworking and tidies the place very well. Imagine yesterday morning when I woke up, I step out of the room, I stare at the living room table and I went "WOW!" Is super neat and tidy unlike the previous maid who just clean only the empty space in between things. And her priority is to do housework then eat. Just like this morning Mr asked if she has eaten, she said NO and she will only eat after she finished the job. And when she sees a little bit of water on the table, she will just clean it. I hope this type of attitude will last and not only for the few days when she is new here. But sometimes she just clean clean do her things until so engrossed she lived in her own world, even I am beside her and tell her some things she also dunno. So funny. Maybe next time I must shout her name to gain attention. Initiative wise, I haven't see much of it yet.. time will tell everything.

So my weekend is about coaching the maid, and going to Giant to do grocery shopping. What a fast weekend, till no time to bring Chloe for a swim. :(

Had a wonderful Saturday shopping at Orchard, bringing Chloe and dad in law. Mat gave me $140 taka voucher, thinking wanted to buy the Konfidence thermal swimwear at the children's dept but who knows the lady said already out of promotion. Sianz. Dunno what to do with the $140, went to see the high chair but the saleslady said the most can use until 1 yr old then they will start to climb out of the chair which is dangerous, and only left 5 more months she will be 1 yr old, so no point. Ended up, buying a Bumbo chair with the tray which already costs $80. Spent $20 buying disney playmat. $10 to buy a mini cup for her. Left $40 dunno what to do with it, so keep it next time see got what to buy. Then we went to Isetan Shaw to buy her Konfidence thermal swimwear which cost $64. Expensive right, but what to do, so afraid that she will catch a cold again after bringing her to swim. Pay $64 better than paying $200 medical fees! Haha. Then made my specs at Optic Point. Hope this white and purple specs will look nice. Hehe. Hope can use the thermal swimwear soon and also the neck float!! :)

Why I said laughing is contagious, because the night before, Mr was playing with Chloe, they laughed till so loud and at nothing! Scenario was like this, Chloe was sitting near to the edge of the bed, and Mr was sitting of the floor clinging to the edge of the bed. Then, Mr start to do actions like those very dramatic praying actions, and knock his head on the bed infront of her, and saying AHHHH GONG! (Gong as in knock). Then she started to laugh real loud, then Mr laughed with her so loud, then a paused. Mr started laughing louder then she followed, practically laughing at nothing funny. The laugh goes on continuously for a few minutes, set me laughing also. Cos is really damn funny, too bad, I regret not videoing down, maybe next time. :(
Hoping Sat faster come, if she is ok with her flu, I hope to bring her for a short swim.

Chloe don't like car rides!

Busy weekend we had again, going to Batu to attend Mr's Ah Ma's birthday lunch on Sunday. So we set off on Saturday afternoon.

We always go by Second Link and we did not know why there was a long jam, way before the custom and was stuck for an hour, only to realise they took everyone's thumbprint before exiting out of Singapore custom. During the car ride, Chloe just couldn't sit still and just want to stand up and shout and make noise. Scratch the car's seat, window, practically everywhere! Cannot tahan her! Haha. And end up during the jam, she stared out of the window, saying hi to everyone who noticed her. And almost every cars which went past us say Hi to her. She so happie and keep doing BYEBYE hand sign. Good PR skills! Lolz. At last during half the journey, she cried and she slept. But JUST for HALF AN HOUR! And she is recharged! New generation Energizer. Super quick charge. And the little devil is back, up and jumping again! I really wondered why my frens' babies can sit in the car really still in their car seats and even slept, and even books also said babies like to go for car rides as it simulates the environment when they are in the womb. But seemed like it is not for Chloe. Too hyperactive already.

At last we reached Ah Ma's house. We are afraid she will cry like mad the previous first time she came. But this time, was so different! She did not cry. But smile and play with aunties and uncles and cousins! Good! We can set our minds at ease and leave with them and we can go shopping! Haha. But night time was terrible, cos due to the traffic noise outside, and she woke up with a start at every noise motorbikes made, and the slamming of the door at the opposite room, me and sister in law practically didn't sleep the whole night as we 3 shared a bed. In the middle of the night, we decided to put her in the YAO LAN after she drank her milk, and she was so so noti she flip over and crawl in the YAO LAN. She tot she was playing superman or roller coaster, there was a ride in Genting which made you lie down and fly u up and down and what Chloe did was similar. Haha. Lucky we only stayed a night. Maybe the next time round, we will go to our Ah Kim's house to sleep, is quieter. Peaceful.

During the arrival, Chloe suddenly turned to a very good girl, very gentle, very got XING XIANG. She didn't even make a single shout or noise, and sat quietly on Mr's cousin's lap. Me and Mr was like.. Duh, she also know how to BAO CHI XING XIANG. Haha. And she didn't hit or scratch anyone. Only until the next day, she start to show her true colours! Haha.

Sun had the celebration lunch. At the lunch, when Siti carried Chloe to play with Ah Fu (Mr's cousin's son), Chloe was hitting his head, and trying to pull his hair. Me and Mr saw, and then keep smiling, no more XING XIANG already. Lolz. I guess when we come back during CNY next year, the 2 kids will be fighting and running around catching each other. :)

After lunch, came back to cut cake then we departed at around 4plus. Went opposite stall to buy baby products for sister's newborn. As usual, the energizer is out to make us tired in the car. Was raining heavily and she slept. Again for HALF HOUR! And somemore on the way back to Singapore customs, traffic jam again! And Chloe was shouting all the time. Dunno what to do to quiet her down! At last we made our way out of the custom. There was this Ah Neh in his bike and he saw Chloe and did a kissing action. I saw and everyone saw and we all Yee!! And tease even Ah Neh also attracted to Chloe! Haha.

Came home, put her in Yao Lan to sleep and again she did the super man action inside. Really dunno how to scold her cos she don't understand, and we can't bear to scold or hit her when she actually give you a sweet smile or cheeky look. I guess that's how parents always can't bear to scold or hit their cute kid.

This morning when she wake up, again she flip inside her Yao Lan. I think babies like to repeat the actions they learnt and also knowing we make a fuss out of it and they are very happy and continue to do it to spite us! :o)
Actually my goal to Batu was to make a pair of specs since if I can get a cheap package for 88RM. Who knows, I tried so many colours and at last I saw one pair which I like, and the whole package will cost me 200RM and to me is reasonable, but they are not able to give me within 24 hours. Byebye to the shop. Went to the others, didn't see any I like. But I made up my mind to get a pair of WHITE specs. Hopefully I can find one I like in Singapore during this GSS.

Chloe being 7 months' old

Chloe turned 7 months yesterday. And is a busy day for us and also very tiring day. As u know, Chloe has been sick since Monday, and till yesterday she has not getting better but with more phlegm in her throat. My mum was so worry cos she told me when my brother and me were babies, she brought us to the doc to suck out all the phlegm and is a very painful process and both of us were very xin ku. So she kept telling me to bring her to see the Thomson doc which she has her routined injections. I called Thomson from 8am till 9.15am then they picked up and told me Dr Keoy goes to Bishan branch on Sundays. My god. But no choice, waited impatiently for my parents to come back from market as the last appointment is at 10.30am and the time then was 9.30am. During the waiting time, suddenly I went to check my handphone and found I have a msg from my sister in law saying "Your stupid maid packed her things and said wanna go back to agent. She refused to work." I was like OH MY GOD, then quickly wake Mr up and he called to ask what happened. Immediately when my dad came back, then I shouted faster fetch Mr back then fetch me and Chloe go Bishan see doc, he was like HUH, in 45 mins time? And somemore my mum haven't come back from marketing, ended up Mr took a cab back. And we straight went to Bishan. And spent another $100 on her medical fees, total we actually spend like 200 over. Hope this time we spent money to ward off all the "evils" Haha. So Chloe no more sick next time!

After seeing doc, Mr, sister and mum in law wanted to go to agent already and so I met up with them there. I was waiting to see "show" haha.. The agent scolded the maid so loud, scary! And even pulled her shirt, say her stupid. Say wanted to break her legs to show her what is pain when she complained that her legs has been painful for 3 days which is actually muscle ache. Haiz. I dunno to feel sorry for her that she get scolded infront of so many people or .. Haiz..

The agent keep wanting her to go back with us to work one more month before the new maid comes, but she die die also dun wan to go back with us. She rather not take any salary and sit in the agency, maybe is a JIE TUO for her from being getting scolding everyday. Haha. So now no choice, no maid for 3 weeks until the new one comes.

The day really exciting and tiring man! And ended up no much photos taken on her 7 month! Till date, she still only know how to creep, sits independantly and able to eat solid foods, and always make her mouth like she wanted to eat whenever she sees anyone eating. Haha. Still waiting for her to go on fours and shuffle her bottoms. But how to when she only wants to be carried everyday! Aiyoyo!

At last Mr got his PS3!Now our home lacks of XBOX360 and DS! Lol!

My princess is sick.

So tired. I had only a few hours of sleep these few days, as Chloe is sick, having fever and cold and cough since Monday. Poor girl. Monday Mr was also down with cough as well and so I told him to go see a doc then at the same time bring Chloe to see one as well. During days when Chloe gets sick, she will become real cranky and always wanted to be carried, even when we carried her to sit down, she will make noise, she just wanna walk around. Then on tues, she caught a fever of 37.8, and vomit after food due to cough, so me and Mr after work went home to bring her back to Dr Quek again. Doc mentioned that she got viral infection. Tues night was the worst, practically unable to sleep cos she couldn't stop crying. No choice, we have to take care of her. Then ended up, I was too tired to go to work, and took childcare leave to take care of her and to have some rest. But of cos, not able to have much rest, morning went to IMM to get her some "koolfever stickers", and chest rub and buy lunch back. The "stickers" do have some use, after a few hours after sticking the "sticker" on her head, it became warm. At night when Mr came home, Chloe's fever went up but she was fine during day time. I guess night time is always the time window when illness gets serious.

I began to surf the web to bring down the fever besides on medication. What I have learnt,
1)Never to put cold towel or bathe cold bath due to a sudden drop of body temperature will be bad for babies, instead they have to be bathed in warm water which will make them comfortable.
2)Drink more fluids. Use encalyptus oil in hot bath for babies to breathe in the essence to clear conjestion in flu and cough.
3)Baby fever is consider to be serious only after 38.9 and to seek a doc.
4)Both ears when using the ear thermometer will be different.

But anyway, mum gets really worried about Chloe's fever, and suggest us to bring her to NUH to see a doc. That time was close to 11pm when I decided to bring her to NUH, though abit reluctant but also want to know what's wrong with her since her fever reached 38.3. So off we go to NUH children's emergency. For the first time, I stepped into emergency ward. Luckily the children's side wasn't crowded, very soon is our turn. The environment looks very comfy, with pooh stickers, mickey mouse on doors. Hehe. During the initial checkup before seeing the doc, needs to check on her heartbeat, and the nurse wanted to give her a sticker and I told her Chloe likes Pooh Bear. And she purposedly go find the sticker. So sweet of her. LOL.

The doc who attended to Chloe is quite young. And he did thorough check for her. He typed very fast to take down her condition. He was expecting her to cry when trying to check her throat. But she did not, and she even smile and try to pull the doc's stethoscope. Haha. Dad always say her very brave and little chilli padi cos she is not scared of any doctors at all. Not even a cry or shout. Doc just said she had viral infection due to be infected by anyone in the family who is sick. Initially, I got scared wonder is it cos I brought her to swim and she caught her a cold. So I verify with the doc, and he said no, is just infected by a sick person in the family. Lucky. Cos I felt so bad after she got sick after I brought her to swim.

Till today, her fever has subside but cough still persists. But I know she will get well soon to pay off our hard efforts to take care of her.

Now I really know the hardship of being parents especially when their child is sick, parents will have to give their 100% tendering loving care to the child to make the child happy so that the child gets well very soon. Parents usually have to sacifice one or another for the child. This morning mum said now then you know parents not easy to be. Lol.


The sticker I been talking about, and lucky yesterday she started to smile abit. This morning I found that she has become skinner especially her face shrinked!
